Welcome!
The
EMU Library is pleased to offer you two distinct services for fast,
self-service interlibrary borrowing.
MelCat
Michigan eLibrary Catalog (MeLCat),
is a catalog of the books
and multimedia from other Michigan libraries that you can request to be sent to the EMU
Library for your pick-up. MelCat books usually arrive within a few days to a week of your
request. Use your EMU E-number to submit a request.
Search MelCat for:
- Books not owned by EMU
- EMU-owned items checked out to another user or missing
NOTE: journals and journal articles are NOT available via MelCat.
Help with MelCat
ILLiad
ILLiad is a loan
service among hundreds of cooperating libraries around the United States. The wait time for books can be two weeks or even longer, which is why we recommend trying MeL first for books. Articles can usually be delivered electronically in less than a week.
First time users must register after logging in to ILLiad. Login to ILLiad from this page.
Use ILLiad for:
- Articles and journals not owned by EMU
- Books not owned by EMU
NOTE: ILLiad will not honor requests for items that EMU owns even if they are checked out
or missing.
